In October 1979, Nissan introduced the Datsun 720 as successor to the 620. A four-door crew cab version of the 720 was available in most markets (although not in North America). In addition, some overseas models continued with the early style beds in the later model years as well as the lower cost round headlamps, and included various combinations of Datsun and Nissan badging while retaining the Datsun name throughout all model years. In Japan, round headlights were standard but higher-end models like the GL received square headlamps.
In 1983, the front end underwent a transformation with a larger grille, bumper, and corner lights. There was also a revised dashboard with round instead of square gauges. At the same time, the regular cab was lengthened slightly and the air extractor vents behind the cab doors changed from the high "flag" look to long, narrow ones that matched the height of the window opening. The cabs of the King Cab versions were unchanged.
These minitrucks are now a favourite in the Socal scene, being easy to find, plentiful in parts, and having some of the best decal sets available on the minitruck market. These 80s inspired diagonal decals featured simple block colours, light gradients and also 4x4 lettering to break up the slab side of the turcks, but also provide some colour on this staple utility. The resulting look has become a favourite amongst the minitruck scene.
This decal can be resized for 2-door, king cab or crew cab sizes. The decal can also be customised for colour, just tell us your vision and we'll make it happen.
